In the busy business district of Ortigas Center in Pasig, I found some peace and quiet while slowly savoring the delicious food at Kalesa Cafe. It’s as if time stood still.
The elegant interiors, the relaxing music and the very hospitable staff made the visit here worth it.
Seafood Salad Roll Php375
For appetizers, I ordered the Seafood Salad Roll. I strongly recommend you try this. There are eight pieces of pure bliss. This appetizer is made of shrimps and kani salad rolled in nori and panko breadcrumbs that are deep-fried for the wonderful crunch. The rolls are drizzled with wasabi reduction, soy-balsamic reduction and mango coulis.
Grilled Salmon Fillet and Sinigang in Japanese Miso Php570
If you like tangy soups, I recommend the Grilled Salmon Fillet and Sinigang in Japanese Miso. It’s the sour broth we Filipinos love, presented exquisitely in this dish. They first serve the grilled salmon and vegetables and put this on top of a candle to make sure it’s hot. And then they pour the sour broth. This is served with plain rice.
Grilled Rosemary and Sage Pork Chops in Cerveza Gravy Php450
For meat-lovers like me, you will definitely enjoy the Grilled Rosemary and Sage Pork Chops in Cerveza Gravy. This is served with roasted marble potatoes, buttered vegetables and parsley rice.
