AFC Angeles Fried Chicken

Historical can be yummy. Some people travel to visit the oldest spots of a particular place. There are also those who enjoy the food tour. Angeles Fried Chicken or AFC can probably give you both. They’re proud to be the oldest restaurant in Angeles City, Pampanga Province, and AFC is one of the favorite places to eat at for tourists and locals.

Thank God the place is air-conditioned. Outside AFC’s just scorching hot. Imagine the relief we had when we settled down inside and gulped their iced tea.

For a group of friends, AFC Picnic Pack is perfect with 15 pieces of Angeles Fried Chicken. Each piece gives a taste of something familiar (hint, tastes like what sounds like AFC). Gravy and coleslaw go with that.

You can also try the Japanese Fried Chicken. It’s slightly sweet and very garlicky. I love garlic.

I highly recommend you order their Camaron Rebosado. The sweet and sour sauce is heaven!

If you want the Filipino favorites, they serve Chicharon Bulaklak and Pork Sisig.

For salads, I suggest you order Crispy Chicken Salad.

Pocholo Flores, AFC’s sales and marketing head, said their restaurant opened way back in the 1960’s. Generations of loyal patrons come back, he added. That’s why grandparents reminisce about the time they still dated here while enjoying meals with grandkids.
