What’s new on the menu? XO46 Heritage Bistro has four new items available. They’re traditional Pinoy favorites prepared in a different way.
1. Corned Beef Bulalo.
It’s beef that’s been brined for almost a week, then boiled for three hours with cabbage, carrots, chickpeas, potatoes, corn, and homemade chorizo.

It is served with heapings of fresh vegetables swimming in a flavouful, robust broth. An original dish of Central Luzon, Bulalo has become a classic in Philippine cookery. At XO46, our Bulalo is prepared with fresh corned beef and a less greasy but supremely flavorful broth.”
2. Chicken Curry.
Among the new dishes, this is my favorite. It’s chicken fillet, with curry sauce. It’s already good as is, but it takes on a new character because it’s served with fresh onions, eggs, raisins, and bacon on the side.

This is the first time I enjoyed my chicken curry this way. The fresh onions work, giving more life to this dish, balanced by the subtle sweetness from the raisins, and with sprinkled bacon bits…bacon tastes good on just about anything, right? I might as well try this at home.
3. Chicken Pastel.
It’s the best chicken pastel I’ve had. It’s chicken thigh fillet, cream, potatoes, carrots, olives, and herbs covered with puff pastry.

4. Biko Ube.
For dessert, try their Biko Ube. It’s sticky rice and purple yam cooked together, served with mantecado ice cream and salted caramel sauce on the side.

Wash all that down with Salabat Sa Tanglad. It’s ginger-lemongrass tea. You can have this hot or cold. I had mine cold. It’s refreshing and healthy.
